Bio-diesel, ethanol and butanol are critical energy sources in today's market of high costs. SNC-Lavalin works with all the major ethanol licensors through its various offices to provide feasibility, FEED and EPC services. New processes are being commercialized in butanol production from a variety of feedstocks. Bio-diesel from soybeans, recycled oils and fats and from other bio-mass is being produced from plants designed and built by SNC-Lavalin. Emerging technologies in all these areas are of interest for collaborative efforts to reach commercial operation.
